FAVORITES: MICHELLE PHAN

When it comes to youtube makeup gurus, there are thousands of them. A lot of them have a lot to offer too. Each guru has their own style and their own preferences when it comes to brands and types of makeup, so its easy to find a guru that best fits your needs. My favorite youtube celebrity when it comes to makeup tips would have to be Michelle Phan.

Michelle is an accomplished woman who not only offers practical and easy to follow tutorials on simple makeup, but she provides easy DIY beauty projects and fun cosplay tutorials as well. She is also the CEO of her own line of makeup brushes and beauty products. If you have never heard of Michelle, check out her youtube channel here. She is also a part of For All Women’s Network (FAWN). You can check out that channel here.

FAVORITES: FOREVER 21

If you can’t already tell, Forever 21 is my favorite store. The atmosphere is always sophisticated and all the clothes are already divided by trend when you walk through the door. It is never hard to find something that you like because of the way the store is split into trends. They also usually put their newer items right in the front. I also love the employees. At every Forever 21 I’ve been to in the country, they are so nice and helpful. I also love to look at the website because it is also appealing to the eye. It is also easy to search for specific items. I also love the shop by outfit option. It allows me to look at items that I potentially may buy on a person with other items that match it. It’s almost like a free style guide which adore!

FASHION FLASHBACK: CHRISTMAS

Every Christmas morning, my family attends mass. I usually downplay Christmas outfits since we go strait to my uncle’s house for lunch after church. If you couldn’t guess already, everything in this outfit was from Forever 21. My favorites are the skirt, my hair, and my shoes. I wish I was still this skinny!

OOTD: Craft Fair

Today was the Seabury Hall Craft Fair. This is a big deal on the island of Maui because it is the fundraiser for one of the top schools on the islands. There are vendors who sell a variety of things from inspiring artwork to creative hats. My boyfriend and I decided to check it out and show our support since my sister attends this school. They had the most amazing Italian Soda!

It’s still spring! So I wore this bright ensemble to complement the very bright and sunny weather. My floppy hat is one from Forever 21. I bought it last year for Easter but never had a reason to wear it again until now. The brown band actually ties into a bow in the back. Underneath my shredded sweatshirt, I tucked a coral cropped trapeze tank-top into my shorts. These high-waisted shorts are made of this amazingly light and breathable material. The print is perfect too because the florals are laying over a black background. For those of you who don’t know, I can’t go without at least a hit of black in any of my outfits. The waist is elastic but there is a drawstring-like piece of matching fabric that can be tied to fit or just tied in a bow for fun. My sandals are also from Forever21 and they are actually too big for me, but they were cheap and I liked the criss-cross around the ankles. Of course, I never leave home without my “eskimo bag”, and the “hipster” glasses are courtesy of my boyfriend. I couldn’t find sunglasses and I really wanted something on my face. I also accessorized with a genuine gold and pearl ring that used to belong to my grandmother.

OOTD: THE LEGACY JUBILEE

So last night we had our last school dance of the year. It was called THE LEGACY JUBILEE, and it was in honor of the founder of our school. This past school year was the 125 anniversary since our school has been established.

So I originally was going to wear a maxi skirt with this lace overlay, but I decided I was too fat for it (no really, it was way to small). Instead I settled on a brown high -waist skirt from Forever 21. This skirt is one of my favorite items of clothing because it is made from a soft, comfortable material and it instantly can play up or play down anything I pair with it. Plus, the neutral tone matches with almost anything. For my top I wore a leather bustier which is also from Forever 21. I absolutely love this top, but the only downer is there is no underwire. It has the shape but no support, so this is a top for more flat-chested girls. To cinch it all in, I wore this black corset belt which I love because it makes my waist look way smaller than it really is. I then plopped a cropped denim jacket from Wet Seal over it to brighten up the look a bit. The boots I wore are to die for. You can’t tell in this picture but it’s a wedge heel, and there are rhinestones covering the entire wedge. These are perfect for a night out. For my accessories I kept it simple since I am not a huge accessory person. I wore a long gold necklace with a wooden cross pendant, and what I think is super cute is the cross has golden studs on it. It adds an extra edgy flair. Then I just added my cute little “eskimo bag” to hold my phone, camera, lipstick, and gum.

So i know that somebody must be wondering why the heck I wore black lipstick. The truth is, I am in love with the 90s grunge resurgence happening in fashion right now, and I wanted to do something different. It was the last dance I was ever going to attend at my high school so I thought it would be fun to give everyone a little taste of what they were going to be missing next year (lol jk jk).
